Contact is UVA’s site-specific installation for Oyane Plaza in the Roppongi Hills district of Tokyo, created to mark the opening of
UK-Japan 2008.
Visitors step on a responsive floor surface and use their kinetic energy to generate audiovisual forms that react to the user, and communicate with each other.
Combining advanced computer vision techniques, a unique display surface and physics simulation, Contact challenges participants to interact with each other and with their environment.
Commissioned by the British Council, Tokyo.
Sound by Matthias Kispert.
