Topologies I

Amsterdam, 2020

A new installation artwork that continues UVA’s explorations of sensory experiences through the lenses of technology.

The first of a new series of works, Topologies #1 consists of five kinetic sculptures that project planes of light stretching across the room, creating shifting geometries that continuously divide and reconfigure the space. Visitors traverse a 25 metre long room through imposing yet immaterial walls, creating a sort of intangible realm that alters the viewers’ perception and their relationship with the space they occupy.

Topologies #1 was originally commissioned by Nxt Museum, the first museum dedicated to new media art in the Netherlands. On view from August 2020 until February 2021.
